Hansen Dam Aquatic Center is a 40-acre water recreation facility located on the northwest side of Hansen Dam Recreation Area. The facility consists of a 9-acre recreation lake and a 1.5-acre swimming lake.
The facility has 50 public restrooms, 20 dressing rooms, 25 showers and several picnic areas.
The recreation lake is available for fishing, pedal boat rentals and public boating. The facility is open year-round (including holidays), but is subject to closure during severe weather. Activities available including fishing, boating, picnicking, jogging/walking, bird watching, boat lessons and rentals.
All boats must be a minimum of 7'6" in length, but may not exceed 18 feet in length. All inflatable boats must have at least three air chambers and all occupants must wear PFD's (life jackets) while on the water.
Restrictions: No motors allowed, except electric trolling motors. Powerboats with outboards may sail on lake with the outboard motor in the up position, the gas can removed or the propeller removed.
Limit: A maximum of 15 boats on lake at one time. Speed Limit 5 mph or as determined safe by the lifeguards.

All boats with electric motors including canoes must display a current registrations sticker and CF number.
All vessels are subject to inspection by lifeguards before launching. Lifeguards reserve the right to override manufacture's specifications such as capacity and may limit the number of people on board. Large boats need to be launched and recovered carefully due to the shallow slope of the launch ramp. See the lifesaving staff for details.

For Sail Boarders, one US Coast guard approved personal floatation device either Type I, II, III or V must be worn at all times |

All sailboats with masts must affix a float at the mast head sufficient to prevent submersion of mast |

Kites, model rockets and remote control aircrafts are prohibited due to the proximity of Whitemen Airport. Refer to F.A.A. regulation 101.13 for more information.
The facility has parking for 415 vehicles (including 18 parking spots for persons with disabilities) with additional parking available in the surrounding park. Parking is allowed in designated areas only and not along roadways.
Pets are allowed in the park with the following restrictions:

Remote control boats are permitted in designated areas. Gas powered boats are prohibited. Boat operators should check with others in the area to prevent channel overlap.
A 1/3 mile walkway surrounds the recreation lake and is restricted to foot traffic, except for wheelchairs and baby strollers. Bicycles, roller skates, scooter, skateboards and other wheel vehicles are strictly prohibited on this walkway.
