Golf Registration and Golf Reservations

REGISTRATION

  1. To make advance reservations for starting times, golfers must be registered with the Department of Recreation and Parks.
  2. A registration card will be issued to any person, 13 years and older, upon completion of application and payment of required fees. (ONLY ONE REGISTRATION CARD PER APPLICANT). Any additional applications received will be cancelled and NO REFUNDS will be issued.
  3. Applications are available at all golf courses or may be secured by visiting, writing to, or telephoning the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, 3900 Chevy Chase Drive, Los Angeles 90039, attention “Golf Division” - Telephone (818)291-9980.
  4. All cards will expire one year or three years from purchase date depending on the card purchased.

    LOS ANGELES CITY RESIDENTS - (NO P.O. BOXES ALLOWED). The fee for a resident reservation card is $20.00 (1 year) and $50.00 (3 years). Additional proof of residency may be required.

    NON-RESIDENTS - The fee for a non-resident reservation card is $40.00 (1 year) and $100 (3 years).

    SENIOR CARDS - The fee for a senior golf reservation card for L.A. City Residents or Non-Residents is $20.00 (1 year) and $50.00 (3 years) as long as you are 65 years of age and over and provide a copy of your California Drivers License or other picture I.D. with your BIRTH DATE. Additional proof may be required.

    ONCE A CARD IS ISSUED - NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN.
  5.  PRIORITY GROUPINGS FOR RESERVATION CARDHOLDERS (APPLIES TO WEEKENDS ONLY):                      
    GROUP A – GROUP B – GROUP C – GROUP D
    Priority in the making of reservations will apply to weekend times only. “PRIORITY” DOES NOT APPLY FOR WEEKDAY RESERVATIONS.

    Information as to priority sequence will be available at all times by calling the golf information number (818)291-9980 or by obtaining a dialing sequence card at any city golf course. A print-out schedule will be mailed with your card.

RESERVATIONS:

  1. Reservations for play on the Los Angeles Municipal Golf Courses must be made by telephone only, 1 reservation per day, ONLY ONE RESERVATION PER PHONE CALL and NO MORE THAN ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE.

  2. For all courses, the telephone numbers (213) 625-2704, (818) 787-1233, (310) 216-2626 and (323) 226-9494 may be called for reservations prior to the day of play. These telephone numbers are open 24 hours a day. There may be times when the system is down for maintenance or other reasons beyond our control.

  3. Reservations made prior to the day of play may be obtained as follows:

    RESERVATIONS FOR ANY WEEKDAY WILL NOT BE TAKEN UNTIL 9 A.M. NO MORE THAN ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE, WHETHER OR NOT IT IS A HOLIDAY.

    Saturday reservations will be taken at 6 a.m. on Monday morning for the priority group for that week. The remaining groups may call after 9 a.m. WHETHER OR NOT IT IS A HOLIDAY.

    Sunday reservations will be taken at 6 a.m. on Tuesday morning for the priority group for that week. The remaining groups may call after 9 a.m. WHETHER OR NOT IT IS A HOLIDAY. Monday for days through the following Monday 9:00 a.m. to the day before no later than 11:59 p.m. (EXCEPT that reservations for SUNDAY will not be taken until 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning). Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. for days through the following Tuesday to the day before no later than 11:59 p.m. Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. for days through the following Wednesday until the day before no later than 11:59 p.m. Thursday at 9:00 a.m. for days through the following Thursday until the day before no later than 11:59 p.m. Friday at 9:00 a.m. for days through the following Friday until the day before no later than 11:59 p.m.

    The City observes the following regular holidays: New Years Day; Martin Luther King Jr. Day (3rd Monday in January); Washington’s Birthday (3rd Monday in February); Cesar Chavez (last Monday in March); Memorial Day (last Monday in May); Independence Day; Labor Day (1st Monday in September); Columbus Day (2nd Monday in October); Veteran’s Day; Thanksgiving Day (by proclamation of the President); the day after Thanksgiving; Christmas Day - ANY DAY DECLARED BY THE GOVERNOR OR THE PRESIDENT, IS A HOLIDAY. IF A HOLIDAY FALLS ON A SATURDAY, THE FRIDAY BEFORE WILL BE HOLIDAY RATES AND IF IT FALLS ON SUNDAY, THE MONDAY AFTER WILL BE HOLIDAY RATES.)

  4. Reservations may be made for singles, twosomes, threesomes, or foursomes with the exception of Harbor Park and Penmar, which have fivesomes. The Department reserves the right to complete all foursomes and fivesomes. Only one reservation is allowed a registrant for any one day.

  5. Registrant having the reservation must pick up his/her tickets on the day of play AT LEAST FIFTEEN (15) MINUTES BEFORE the starting time and comply with the following:

    a. Present registration card and driver’s license to starter.
    b. Give names of the entire party to starter.
    c. Pay green fees for entire party.
    d. Present registration card and driver’s license at first tee when required.
    e. Play in the group for which reservation is made.

  6. Failure to cancel or pick up tickets for a reserved time will result in a penalty of $5.00 per person and will result in suspension of further reservation privileges until the penalty is paid. PAYMENT MAY BE MADE AT ANY OF THE MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE OR TO THE DEPARTMENT OF RECREATION AND PARKS GOLF DIVISION, 3900 CHEVY CHASE DRIVE, LOS ANGELES CA 90039. Access to the reservation system will resume upon receipt of penalty payment.

    a. When paying at any City golf course, keep your receipt available for at least two weeks.
    b. When paying by mail and you are not returning the bill, BE SURE TO WRITE YOUR CARD NUMBER AND THE WORD “GOLF” ON YOUR CHECK, to assure proper credit immediately.

  7. YOU MAY CANCEL, MODIFY OR CONFIRM YOUR RESERVATION UP TO 11:59 P.M. THE DAY BEFORE THROUGH THE RESERVATION NUMBER ONLY. CANCELLATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED BY CALLING THE COURSE DIRECTLY, AND YOU WILL BE SUBJECT TO A NO-SHOW PENALTY OF $5.00 PERSON.

RULES REGARDING REGISTRATION CARDS AND RESERVATIONS

  1. All registered players must show registration cards to golf course officials upon request.
  2. Person making reservation must be responsible that all members of his/her party comply with all rules pertaining to the use of municipal golf courses which are now in effect or may be from time to time established by the Board of Recreation and Park Commissioners.
  3. All registered players must abide by the etiquette of the game of golf as it pertains to good sportsmanship, fair play and good conduct.
  4. When a reservation is requested, the holder of the card will be responsible for payment and penalty fees.
  5. Should bad weather make the use of a course hazardous and/or detrimental to the course, causing closing of said course, all reservations will be automatically cancelled, and no responsibility shall attach to anyone having made a reservation.
  6. It will be the golfer’s responsibility in case of bad weather to call the course to determine if the course has been officially closed.
  7. Rain check or refund will not be issued to any player once play has commenced.
  8. Cardholders are subject to such suspensions and restrictions as the Department may consider reasonable for failure to comply with the rules and regulations governing reservations, etiquette of the game, rules of play, and personal conduct.
  9. FEDERAL LAW - You are breaking the law if you use any type of equipment provided for the hearing impaired and you yourself are not impaired. Anyone proven to misuse any type of said equipment will have his/her reservation privileges permanently cancelled.
  10. You must be a resident of the City of Los Angeles at the time the Department of Recreation and Parks mails your golf reservation card. If you change your address within the first (2) months after applying for a golf reservation card as a city resident, and you move to a non-resident address you will be billed the additional non-resident fee.
