SUMMER PROGRAM ADDITIONS

Beginning June 24, the Observatory is pleased to offer two new programs as part of its summer programming schedule.

In the Samuel Oschin Planetarium, Water Is Life leads viewers on a search for water - and possibly life - beyond Earth. The program will be offered twice a day on both weekdays and weekends. For more information, click here.

In the Leonard Nimoy Event Horizon, Let's Make a Comet! is a 25-minute demonstration program that mixes common household ingredients with dry ice to make a small comet that’s just like the real thing. The program will be offered at 2:00 p.m. every day and also at 12:00 noon on weekends. For more information, click here.

SPECIAL NOTICES

Observatory Traffic Advisory
The 2008 season at the Greek Theatre is underway.
For those visiting the Observatory when Greek shows are occurring, a lane of inbound traffic for Observatory visitors will be maintained once inside Griffith Park. However, you may encounter congestion on Vermont and Hillhurst Avenues trying to enter the park. An alternative would be Fern Dell / Western Canyon prior to sunset (when the road closes to inbound traffic). Please also be aware that there will be parking restrictions in the area of the Greek Theatre several hours before shows begin. You can view the Greek Theatre schedule by clicking here.

Pilot School Visit Program Reservations
We regret we are unable to accept applications for the 2008-09 School Visit Program until September 2008. Watch this page for more information.
